Holiday Lights & Santa's Mailbox
Holiday Lights Logo (2017)

The spectacular display of holiday lights will return to the Village Commons this holiday season.  The display will be visible every evening beginning at dusk from Sunday, December 2 through Sunday, January 6.  Making his return to the Village Commons will be the largest illuminated Santa Claus in the United States, standing nearly 40 feet tall and covered in 18,500 LED lights.

Santa's mailbox will be located in front of Santa (who stands in front of the Village Hall), and children who mail a letter to Santa in this mailbox will receive a special response from Kris Kringle!  Letters must be mailed no later than December 16 for a response to be guaranteed, and senders should please take care to include an address to which a response can be sent.

All are welcome to view the holiday lights - no ticket or admission fee is required.  The Village Commons is located just off of Route 30 (Maple Street) at 101 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox.  The display can be viewed from a vehicle Mondays through Fridays, but a portion of the road will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays in December to accommodate our Christmas in the Commons activities.  For those looking to view the lights by foot, parking is available around the Veterans Parkway ring road as well as behind the Village Hall.
